Reaching out to teenagers & adults at risk
RESCUE HOUSE
Reintegrate street teenagers and homeless adults into their families.
Provide support at juvenile detention centers to teenagers ; encouraging them to develop their learning skills and helping prepare them to reintegrate into society once again.
OUR VISION
WHAT WE DO
STREET WORK
Twice a week, the Rescue House team goes to a square where street adults usually hang out to spend time with them and pray. We spend time playing UNO or soccer with the goal of building relationships and also inviting them to participate in open house activities.
THE OPEN HOUSE
At the moment, due to the pandemic restrictions, the Rescue House team holds individual appointments instead of in a group setting. During this time, the focus of our team is to encourage these street adults to choose the abundant life God has for them.
JUVENILE CORRECTION FACILITIES
Rescue House works with adolescents in several juvenile correction centers offering english classes four times a week. The workshops follow a biannual curriculum, and the kids who complete the course with at least 80% proficiency have the opportunity to receive a certificate and a simple graduation service held at Rescue House. During class, missionaries advise and encourage them individually to seek God's best for their lives.

Once in every two weeks, the team has an opportunity to conduct a "open discussion" at one of the correction centres.
DOCUMENTATION
Once a week Rescue House helps these young adults and teenagers to obtain the necessary documentation, such as Identity Card, Birth Certificate and so forth.
RECOVERY HOUSES
Rescue House has contact with recovery centers in Belo Horizonte and in the metropolitan region. We offer assistance to those who would like to leave the streets or to go to a rehabilitation center. For adults, we try to refer them and take them to recovery homes. As for adolescents, we reach out to their families and we verified the possibility of a family reintegration.

The team also conducts a bible study in one of the recovery houses once in every 2 weeks.
CAMPS ( descontinued for now due to the pandemic restrictions)
Twice a year the Rescue House organizes a camp for street adults. These camps are filled with days of devotions, ministrations and games. Time to go deeper and be intentional about their relationship with God.
The Rescue House provides assistance to children, teenagers and adults on the streets who need help, and gives references of places and people who can assist them. Thus, the Rescue House is a door that is always open to anyone who chooses to straighten out their lives, seeking to receive what God has, despite the difficulties.
