VISION
Coming as a short term volunteer/mission builder provides opportunities for people to commit from 1 -3 months and serve in the very practical needs of a base and its family of ministries. This offers people a chance to experience community living, serving on the mission field; contributing their skills, talents and serving through practical work in vital areas of service.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
Working in teams – you will be joining one of our ministry teams, where you will serve children, teenagers and families alongside us, by utilizing your gifts and talents in very practical ways.
Practical service – From painting, to helping out in the kitchen or doing maintenance work, you will help meet the needs of the ministries.
Ywam community living –as a short term volunteer/mission builder, you will live and serve in one of the ministry homes and join in the Thursday night worship services, the volunteer meetings and any other base events.
OPPORTUNITIES
Anyone with a willing heart and who is open and flexible to lend a hand is welcome to come and serve. You will be working in a team setting, using your gifts and talents to serve God and work alongside long-term and short-term missionaries. Be challenged and come and be a part of what God is doing here in Belo Horizonte!
How to apply to come as a mission builder/short term volunteer?
You can come and participate in any of these ministry homes or projects as a volunteer, depending on availability. We receive short term volunteers for up to three months, during the months of February to November .(Note: in December & January – it´s school holidays here in Brazil and therefore most of our staff normally take their annual leave during this time, so, the houses have a break).

You need to be at least 18 years old

Fill out and sign an application form

Ask your pastor to fill out a confidential Pastor´s reference form.

Ask a friend to fill out a confidential Friend´s reference form

A State or Federal criminal background check/Good Behavior Conduct report.

Fill out a personal evaluation form plus a personal health form

Must have read and signed all the following documents (YWAM International values, YWAM international child protection policy)
We ask that you please arrange for the confidential references to be sent personally by the person filling out the reference and that all the signed documents are scanned and sent via e-mail. Once all the requirements have been returned, the base admissions team will pray for over your acceptance and as soon as possible you will have a response.
COSTS
The cost for staying as a volunteer is R$530 per month per person (Brazilian currency) which covers base housing, meals and base event transportation. You will also need additional support, to cover your personal needs, telephone/internet/washing machine usage, snacks and the use of public transport. You will also need to organize International Health insurance prior to arrival.
